| Old Business: |
| After little discussion of previous minutes & present agenda Rick called motion to apprOVe. Ist… Bryan, 2nd… Ross. -all approved After much discussion of financials & expenses, Rick called motion to approve. Ist… Bryan, 2nd… Clair….- all approved New Business: 1. Clair said he had not heard back yet of FAA runway inspection of last February but Mike Marr (lowa D.O.T. aviation) said the was happy to hear of report of no damage or frost heaving this past winter. 2. It was decided to keep the west grass strip mowed. 3. Clair mentioned he had poles and steel… because many are busy already doing construction it may take a while before he can get help to put the tractor/mower shed built. 4. Clair brought up an electrical problem with runway lights… decided to have electrician check into it. 5. Discussion followed concerning the north fence between airport and gas station property. The consensus was to keep it, as it was a good dividing line between the properties. 6. Still getting inquiries of hanger space availability. Because of the need, several years ago our Airport Layout Plan…A.L.P… was updated with hanger locations… Contract bids were put together yet one never materialized. Much discussion followed. It was the consensus to try again for state grant for one in the the location west of Lynn Johnson’s hanger. 7. Clair was notified last summer by state aviation authority that the trees and brush in the area of the culvert exiting under the runway needed to be cut down because of the height and being too close to the runway. So he cut them down and was wondering what to do with them. Since the problem was mitigated, just leaving them lay and rot or maybe later burned was acceptable. 8. No word yet on when the remaining top soil would be put back from the retaining pond and street project… hoping it would be soon. 9. Open discussion…. Farmers/landowners are being approached for land by wind turbine companies. Because of possible hazard to airport traffic Mike Marr said to check into local zoning. Some modifications may be needed not just for air traffic but also birds. 10. Next meeting date set of June 4th. Rick called for motion to adjourn… Ist… Bryan, 2nd…Ross, all approved…meeting adjourned 6:35 pm Submitted… by Clair Pecinovsky… secretary |
