MINUTES

The Cresco City Council met on September 15, 2026, at 1:00 pm for a special meeting and tour of the Cresco Wastewater Treatment Plant. Council Members Kriener, McConnell, Wolfe, and Fosaaen were present. Council Member Carman was absent.

Wastewater Superintendent Mike Born gave the Council a tour of the facility.

Council reviewed two quotes for the septage receiving facility: Mehmert Tiling $58,814.20 and Blazek Corporation $65,182.00. McConnell made a motion to approve the low quote from Mehmert Tiling. Wolfe seconded the motion, and it passed with all ayes.

Council also reviewed a quote from Cresco Building Services for $23,986.50 to install curtains on the digester building to help prevent freezing during the winter months. The previous digester building was enclosed, while the new building is open, which created freezing issues last winter. Installing curtains on three sides would help protect the sludge from freezing while still allowing adequate airflow during the winter months. The curtains could be opened during the warmer months to keep the building accessible and well ventilated. Kriener made a motion to accept the quote from Cresco Building Services. McConnell seconded the motion, and it passed with all ayes.

The tour ended at 3:34 pm. The next regular Cresco City Council meeting will be held on September 21, 2026, at 5:30 p.m. at Cresco City Hall.
