THIS NOTICE IS GIVEN PURSUANT TO CHAPTER 21, CODE OF IOWA AND THE LOCAL RULES OF SAID GOVERNMENTAL BODY. POSTED: July 14, 2026.
MINUTES
Secretary Hovden called the Cresco Park and Recreation meeting to order on 07/15/2026, at 12:00 pm at
the Cresco Fitness Center (CFC). Board Members Hovden, Johnson and Myers were present.
Also Present: Brandon Kerian and Rich McConnell
Hovden made the motion to approve the consent agenda which included the approval of the agenda;
claims, and minutes of the June 10, 2026 meeting. Myers seconded the motion, and it passed all ayes.

Kerian reported on the Fitness Center:
Kerian requested approval to hire Ryden Wall as a lifeguard at a rate of $12.00 per hour. Hovden
motioned to hire Ryden Wall as lifeguard at the rate of $12.00 per hour. Myers seconded the motion and it
all passed ayes.
Kerian discussed the upcoming Fit Fest to be hosted by the Fitness Center. The event will be held in
conjunction with Harvest Fest on August 22, 2026 with an approximate start time of
8:00 a.m..
Kerian reported on Parks:
An update was provided on Evans Park. The playground equipment has been installed and the
surrounding concrete has been poured. A turf contractor is expected on site within the next several weeks.
The playground is projected to be available for public use in approximately one month.
Hovden moved to adjourn at 12:11 pm. Johnson seconded, and it passed all ayes. The next regular Cresco
Park and Rec meeting is scheduled for August 12, at 5:30 pm at CFC.
