MINUTES

Cresco Theatre Commission

The Cresco Theatre Commission met Monday, May 11th, 2026, at 5:30 PM in the Scene Shop.  Members present were Dave Gosch, Kelly Ferrie, Ann Seebach, Gayle Kelm, and Julie Wilson.  Steve Lickteig and Kari Waterbeck were unable to attend.  Guests:  Wendy Lickteig, Cresco Theatre Manager, Joe Wacha, Cresco Community Theatre, and Stan Fosaaen, City Council.

The May agenda, April minutes, and financials were reviewed.   Kelly Ferrie made the motion to approve, seconded by Julie Wilson, and unanimously approved by the Commission.

Staff Reports:   Wendy Lickteig presented the manager’s report.   Psychic Don Marlett, who was here on 5/9, was well received with 98 people attending the show.  Scene Shop Ribbon Cutting will be 5/12 at 5:00.  School kids will be coming to two shows on 5/20.  Cresco Public Library will be using the Theatre for a free movie on 6/9, showing “Charlotte’s Web.”  Lori Line has changed her performance date to 12/3.  Raises were presented to take effect on 7/1, with Kelly Ferrie making the motion to approve, seconded by Ann Seebach, and unanimously approved by the Commission. New rates of pay are as follows:  Tami Bouska-$11.00, Isaish Burke-$10.00, Kevin Groenwald-$10.00, Haylee Holten- $12.25, Austin Hoppe-$11.00, Emmaly Hoppe-$9.75, Ashton Inzillo-$8.75, Summer Knight-$11.25, Cole Lickteig-$8.75, Meinecke-$13.50, Carly Miller-$8.50 and Lexus Vrba-$9.75.  Wendy is putting together a set of guidelines for volunteers.  This would cut some costs in the future.  Wendy has been seeking bids for gutter replacements on the Theatre.  The Commission members asked about having closed captioning at more movies.  It was decided to turn it on at all movies except one during the week.

New Business:

  1. Fundraising-At Borlaug Fest the Theatre will host a dunk tank. A date for having a food stand will be TBD.
  2. The next meeting will be June 8th, 2026, at 5:30 PM. Motion to approve was made by Ann Seebach, seconded by Kelly Ferrie, and unanimously approved by the Commission.

  1. Comments from Community Theatre- Joe Wacha shared that there will be a children’s play on June 13-14th. There is discussion about another show in October and possibly December.

Motion to adjourn was made by Kelly Ferrie, seconded by Gayle Kelm and unanimously approved by the Commission.
