Cresco Theatre Commission
The Cresco Theatre Commission met Monday, October 13th at 5:30 PM in Champlin Hall. Members present were Kelly Bartling, Ann Seebach, Gayle Kelm, Kari Waterbeck, and Julie Wilson. Dave Gosch and Steve Lickteig were unable to attend. Guests: Wendy Lickteig, Cresco Theatre Manager, and Stan Fosaaen, City Council.
The October agenda, September minutes, and financials were reviewed. Ann Seebach made the motion to approve, seconded by Kari Waterbeck, and unanimously approved by the Commission.
Staff Reports: Wendy Lickteig presented the manager’s report. Wendy reported that movie attendance has been low. The live event, “Don Marlett,” had 85 attendees. It was an excellent show and he would like to return. The Theatre will be used for the Home School Play on 10/30, 11/6, and 11/8. The budget is due next month to City Council. Wendy mentioned the Theatre’s 4th place ranking on the Iowa’s Most Haunted list. This will be emphasized and possibly lead to more Theatre events, rentals, etc… Wendy shared that the lightning strike to the Theatre caused damage to the lights, dimmer packs, networking, sound, the HVAC system, the fire alarms, sump pump, and more. So far $11,000 has been turned in to insurance for repairs and new parts.
