City of Cresco Board Postion Openings

The Airport Commission, Park Board, Library Board, Board of Adjustment, Planning & Zoning, and Theatre Commission all have position openings on July 1, 2023. Terms are for 3 years. Short applications are available at City Hall or online at www.cityofcresco.com (under forms) and should be mailed to City Hall, 130 N Park Place, Cresco, IA 52136 or emailed to cityhall@cityofcresco.com by May 31, 2023.

YARD WASTE PICK UP

Yard Waste Pick Up

The next Yard Waste pick up date is Monday, May 30, 2023.

All yard waste must be set out by 7 a.m. on each scheduled date.
Yard waste is composted so only what nature deposits such as leaves, grass clips, lawn waste, bark, etc can be put in yard waste bags. Only specified paper bags available at local Cresco merchants must be used and they can only weigh 50 lbs. Leave them open at the top and at curbside.
Tree branches up to 10 feet in length will be accepted, but they must be stacked loose, not tied and placed neatly on the boulevard by 7 a.m by the Monday of pick up. Most branches are run through the wood chipper but if it is a large pile, the crew may use a loader to take the pile to the yard waste site.
For those citizens wishing to deposit yard waste at their own convenience, the yard waste site located two miles south on the Vernon Springs Road will be open all year.

In an effort to reduce costs and time for the City, we are urging residents to sign up for Direct Debit to pay their water bills by ACH (Automated Clearing House). ACH payments are automatically posted to the accounts.  Go to the Forms menu tab on the left to access a printable form.
